D/T Instructor J.J. Smith is a career law enforcement officer, having served as a police officer since 1995. He is currently employed by the Russellville Police Department, and serves as a Sergeant in the Patrol Division.

Officer Smith is a member of the Special Response Team (1998-Present) and currently serves RPD as the Sniper/Recon Team Leader.

Officer Smith has D/T certifications in VERS, SPEAR and PPCT systems, as well as professional and firearms instructor certifications. He has a Bachelors Degree in Sociology, with a Minor in Criminal Justice from Arkansas Tech University.

He is an active D/T trainer with the Russellville Police Department.
